ACFA Online Battle Royale 2/23/2010 Extra Footage
Second real post, here goes. Not many people were in the room, so I purged my missiles for a little rifles-only time. Couldn't find the other players for the first half-minute, so the video's been cut by 30 or so seconds.
Maybe I should've used something else, but here's the assembly:
Head: Judith
Core: Latona
Arms: Latona
Legs: Lahire
Gen: Sobrero
FCS: Judith
MB: Aaliyah/M
BB: Lahire
SB: Hogire
I'm thinking I should have played with my Sobrero-leg version for more practice, but oh well.
The Marve's limited effective range is pretty apparent... same with its low ammunition. That's something I need to think about in the future.
lol, watching my own recent videos, I would definitely not recommend my fighting style to anyone who wants to win, because frankly it requires one to be quite suicidal. Charging puts you at a great disadvantage, and under almost all circumstances backpedaling is the best way to keep your AP higher than your enemy's. I do it simply because it's thrilling to fly straight at an enemy while evading oncoming attacks.
Matches like these are good for analyzing. Rifles-only is fun too, for me anyway. Guess I'm not much of a firepower person.

ACFA Battle Royale 2/23/2010
Heh, an oddly fun Player Match. I was wondering what I should do with this empty blog, but I suppose I can put it to use by writing some details about the videos I upload.
Here's the assembly:
Head: Judith
Core: Latona
Arms: MG arms
Legs: Sobrero
Gen: Sobrero
FCS: Judith
MB: Aaliyah/M
BB: Lahire
SB: Hogire
I'd actually intended to record myself charging into an enemy and being killed during the first 30 seconds, but for good or for bad this thing exceeded my expectations, lol. That's not to say that it's a practical AC, but it's for keeps.
As an extra analysis, the gatling cannon works somewhat against tanks and heavyweights, but it really has no effect against backpedaling mid/lightweights. Even when you try to get the opponent from behind after a pass-by, the gatling doesn't hit until the opponent turns around and comes in your direction again. If I were to use it on an omg-serious-bizness build it would probably go on the right shoulder, as a one-time surprise weapon. After that the opponent would probably start taking countermeasures, so fire a volley or two and purge. For now, it's a for-teh-lulz weapon.
I'm still dissatisfied with my targeting. The Sobrero legs + Hogire SB combo doesn't help, but with these uber-light assemblies even three Marve rounds to the leg can take out up to 4000 AP; having the enemy lock onto you from outside your field of view means huge trouble. I guess it's time to practice offline with Otsdarva and that other Lahire person some more. Maybe I should try out the Ortega SB?
